The
Dutch Light Rail-system in the region of Utrecht was one of the first
new post-war rail-based undertakings in Europe. Construction began
in 1975. And most of the system was in operation during 1983.
The two-line network between the city of Utrecht and the newtowns
of Nieuwegein and IJsselstein has many characteristics in common with
new American systems like Edmonton, Baltimore and so on.
The trams are just passing their bridge over a main canal in the middle
of the Utrecht region. The rails is singing. The trams are running.
A boat is passing. We like this panorama: this Light Rail Landscape.
